Description
M14 M1A USGI Birch "Big Red" (heavy pattern) wood rifle stock with 75%+ tiger grain pattern. Really nice and quite rare. When I have them available you will be able to order - if they show out of stock check back later.
The tiger pattern is caused by differential stain absorption from closed vs open grain stripes in the wood - parts of the stock darken more than others when stain is applied.
You will need to refinish the stock to see the best tiger effect - in the higher grades (excellent and excellent plus) the original stain tends to obscure the pattern. The tiger birch stock pictures you see out there are almost all refinished.
Excellent condition means very light wear and very minor dings. Buttplates are good to very good.
