M14 USGI Birch "Big Red" (heavy pattern) wood rifle stock with 75%+ tiger pattern.

The tiger pattern is caused by differential stain absorption from closed vs open grain stripes in the wood - parts of the stock darken more than others when stain is applied.

As a general rule, you will need to refinish the stock to see the best tiger effect - the tiger birch stock pictures you see out there are almost all refinished.
